Dennis Stewart, MA

[image] Dennis StewartDennis Stewart is the Western Regional Director for the Food Stamp Program with the U.S. Department of Agriculture?s Food and Nutrition Service. In this capacity he is responsible for the administration of the Food Stamp Program which provides $ 3.5 billion dollars in food assistance to three and a half million low-income people annually in eight Western Region states, American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

Mr. Stewart also served as the manager of the USDA Food Assistance Program to the Russian Far East,  a program which supplied American agricultural products to communities in the eastern half of Russia.

Prior to becoming the Western Regional Director of the Food Stamp Program, Mr. Stewart served as the Western Regional Director of the USDA Food Distribution Program and as the Western Regional Food and Nutrition Service Financial Manager.

A native of Hawaii, Mr. Stewart graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and holds a Master?s  Degree in History from UCLA.
