Pat Sutherland
Pat Sutherland has been Chief of the Food Stamp Policy Bureau in the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) since December 1997. As such, he makes decisions regarding areas of policy development and oversees Food Stamp Nutrition Education efforts in California. Sutherland was a manager in the Aid for Families with Dependent Children program, presiding over policy development and implementation. He has performed other managerial duties in CDSS including being the first bureau chief responsible for setting foster care reimbursement rates. Sutherland is also proud to have served in the United State Air Force as an “aerospace munitions officer”.
